On the soccer field we have a team that works together and helps one another. A pass to an open player helps the team score. The defense helps protect the goal. And the goalie helps the team when all else fails. A soccer team is designed to help one another. The same thing applies with our faith in Christ. We are going to need to help one another.

We may not all be soccer players, but we all are going to need help. On the soccer field we are going to face some tough teams and will need help from our teammates. In life we are going to face many difficult things. Things that are a lot more difficult than winning or losing a game. We are going to face temptations, losses, struggles, and difficult times. We are going to face many trials where we are tempted to question God or even walk away from Him, but we have to remember to trust him and know that he is in control. We may face anxiety, depression, doubt and many more things in life that make us feel alone. But perhaps the biggest temptation we will face is to believe that we must face all of these things alone. And that is furthest from the truth. Because we need each other.

On the soccer field, we have all probably seen or been a ball hog before. You know the person who tries to make every play by themselves, only to lose the ball and ultimately the game. The same thing can happen in life when we try to go at it alone. Ultimately, we are going to lose. God designed us to be in community with one another. He designed us to help one another, and that is why God designed the church. So that believers could come together and help one another follow God and make him known in this crazy world. If you don’t have a church home, I’d encourage you to find one; one that believes, preaches, and teaches God’s word. You are always welcome to join me for worship at FBC Creedmoor. We need help and we need to help others. As we seek God and help others do the same, we will grow together in Christ. Here at Granville Keepers, we hope that as we develop teams full of well-rounded soccer players, we also develop a family that helps each other on and off the field. And that is what I want to leave you with; a challenge to help each other. When you see someone in need, help them. Seek God and seek to show the love he has for you to them. Look out for each other, encourage one another, let us do good to everyone.

As always, if you have any question about your faith or how to have a relationship with Jesus, I would love to talk with you about it!

-Coach Nick

10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
